Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AeroBlock ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use the AeroBlock browser extension.

1. Information We Collect

AeroBlock is designed with privacy as its core principle. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal browsing data.

  • Browsing Data: The extension processes network requests and web page structures strictly locally on your device to block ads and trackers. This data never leaves your browser.
  • Custom Filters: Custom rules are stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API.
  • Analytics: The Tracker Analytics Dashboard generates statistics locally. We do not transmit telemetry, analytics, or crash reports.

2. Premium Features

If you opt-in to AeroBlock Premium:

  • Account Data: We collect your email address for authentication purposes.
  • Payment Information: Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide blocking functionality, AeroBlock securely downloads filter lists (e.g., EasyList, EasyPrivacy) from external servers. These downloads are standard HTTPS requests and do not transmit any personal data.

4. Extension Permissions

AeroBlock requires specific browser permissions to function:

  • declarativeNetRequest / webRequest: Intercept and block ads and trackers.
  • storage: Save your settings and custom filters locally.
  • alarms: Fetch filter list updates in the background.
  • Host permissions (<all_urls>): Apply blocking rules and cosmetic filters across all websites.
